Blood Banking
Blood banking encompasses the procedures involved in collecting, storing, and processing blood and the distribution of red blood cells and blood components. It is associated to the fields of immunohematology and transfusion medicine. Immunohematology is the study of immunologic response to blood components while transfusion medicine refers to the medical practice and techniques associated with the procurement processing and distributing blood or blood components to patients.
