Description

Hologic’s Aptima HPV Assay, the Aptima HPV Assay is a target amplification nucleic acid probe test for in vitro testing, and the qualitative detection of the E6/E7 viral messenger RNA (mRNA) from 14 high-risk types of papillomavirus human (HPV) (16/18/31/33/35/39/45/51/52/56/58/59/66/68).

Features:
•The Aptima HPV doesn’t discriminate between the 14 high-risk types

•The Aptima HPV Assay is intended to be used to screen patients with ASC-US (Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance) Pap test results to determine the need for a colposcopy referral

•The Aptima HPV Test can be used with cervical cytology for supplemental screening (simultaneous testing) to assess the presence or absence of high-risk HPV types

•The Aptima HPV Assay can be used as a first-line primary screening test, with or without cervical cytology, to identify women at increased risk of developing cervical cancer, cancer, or the presence of high-grade diseases. This information, along with the clinician’s assessment of the patient’s screening history, other risk factors, and professional guidelines can be used to guide patient management.
